Public Art
Rose Colored Lenses is in the most literal interpretation a representation of nature.
In this series of work I am creating opportunities for inspiration, reflection, and enjoyment.
I am questioning value and the mortality of this work of art, that the very material quality that makes up its being will eventually lead to its demise.
This work is inherently contradicting and questioning our understanding of nature. I am interested in the textural and formal qualities that create a tension in the reality of this nature. In some ways this tree questions its own existence, for example, why do we need this sculpture when so many beautiful trees exist naturally and are ubiquitous?
In the end the work is intended to inspire, however that may be interpreted by each individual viewer.
Rose Colored Lenses is a monument to nature, and a vision of possibility for the future. |
